“You don't hire for skills, you hire for attitude. You can always teach skills.

WHAT IS EDTECH AND WHY THE HYPE?

According to builtin.com Edtech is the practice of introducing IT tools into the classroom to create a more engaging, inclusive and individualized learning experience.

However, working in the EdTech industry, I saw the fit for EdTech systems in every industry out there.

EDTECH DOESN’T JUST FIT INTO EDUCATION

I believe in training and continuous education in the workplace. This week on LinkedIn, the most frequent quote I have seen is one from Simon Sinek, British-American author and inspirational speaker, “You don’t hire for skills, you hire for attitude. You can always teach skills

If you have a highly skilled worker with no work ethic, they will be useless. If you have an unskilled worker with ambition and drive to work, they will move mountains for your business and investing resources into the right employees will go a very long way.

“Technology can become the “wings” that will allow the educational world to fly farther and faster than ever before—if we will allow it.”

– Jenny Arledge

Every business requires new employees to learn something new. This is where EdTech fits perfectly.

Is it worth spending all your time on hours of employee onboarding and training? Time is money and what this concept means is that you can do 5 other things that will increase your income in the time you would have been spending on training that has not been automated.

Imagine spending one hour on each employee every week. One employee upskilling requires 4 hours of your month that you could spend focusing on other priorities, which doesn’t sound like much until you do it every month for a year and realize that your quality of training has deteriorated due to repetition and focus. In a different scenario, you could be that person thinking ahead of the economy and digitally transform your business to reduce costs and increase productivity and efficiency in the long term.

How? Well if one step towards digital transformation is as simple as deploying an EdTech system to migrate your onboarding processes and training programs online to increase automation, we want to encourage you to think about it.
